Growing up in a small beach town in a cottage just steps to the ocean, Jasset spent long days on the beach playing, swimming and surfing. With her dad being a former pro skateboarder and avid surfer, and mom involved in the surf industry, surfing was a natural lifestyle. Her dad first took her surfing on his longboard at age 5 holding onto her ankles as they rode the wave. It wasn’t until she was 11 that she got her first short board and soon after, begged to enter a contest that was in front of her house one day. It was a spur of the moment decision, entering at the last possible minute and she won. It was a NSSA contest and she thought it was the most fun thing she’d ever done, she was hooked.

Since then Jasset has grown into an accomplished surfer with a bright, positive attitude, competing in amateur, and recently, Jr. Pro and Pro events. She has four East coast titles and is especially proud of earning, “Sportsman of the Year” twice in her NSSA conference. One of her notable accomplishments was being picked for the USA surf team two years in a row where she benefited by learning to focus and train seriously.

While it’s flat in Florida, Jasset travels every summer to California with her family to stay on waves and compete in various contests there. She surfs regularly at her favorite wave, Lowers, with her brother Jack and West coast friends. Puerto Rico, with its many breaks, is another favorite destination that Jasset loves to surf and goes to a couple of times each year. It is the location for the Corona Pro which she competes in annually and has placed runner-up and received “female performer of the event.”

Whether free surfing, doing contests, or just hanging with friends, Jasset always has a smile and feels truly blessed to be living this lifestyle. She has been with O’Neill since age 12 and loves being part of a company like O’Neill because it’s one of the oldest and most original. Jasset’s future plans include, getting started on the WQS very soon and is excited to travel to all the different locations to see the world.
