2012 GenNext Winner Sidney Bundlie

“It’s two days before the show and I can’t get my mind off it. I have 7 more geometry problems left and two chapters to read. Okay why is segment PQ parallel to segment RS? I really want to win. I wonder how many people the other girls have coming for them. I wonder how they will do my hair. Geometry isn’t working out for me….let’s read. I stare at the 48 pages I have to read in 4 days. I take a stab at it and get lost in the thoughts of Saturday.”

2012 GenNext Winner Sidney Bundlie

“It’s
7:34 and it’s almost time to go on stage, my models are all dressed and look
beautiful, my hair is perfect, I have my best friend right by my side, and my
dream is about to become reality… what could be better? We get queued up to go
on stage, the music is pumping and you can just feel the energy from everyone.
I walk on stage with Elyse Taylor and couldn’t be happier. I look out in the
crowd and see my family, friends, neighbors, and a whole bunch of other people!
I couldn’t believe it. It is happening!”

2012 GenNext Winner Sidney Bundlie

“We all
walked on the stage and waiting for Kari to name the Generation Next Winner. I
can hear no one, and I see no one except Kari with the envelope in her hand. “And
the winner is S…” no this
couldn’t be me…NO…“id…” oh yeah it’s happening….“ney Bundlie”… OH SNAP I WON! My heart skips a couple of beats and I can’t believe it. I grab the
$5,000 check and walk down the runway with Elyse Taylor wearing MY dress! As I’m walking, I’m thinking this cannot be true…this is a dream…Kari didn’t
really say my name…but she did and I am the 2012 Generation Next Winner!”  –Sidney

Manicure Monday

Manicure Monday

After a wild weekend with our O’Neill Generation Next event in San Francisco we needed a delicious latte this morning and an easy manicure that required little to no effort… and tada the Latte Charm manicure was born! Learn how to do it yourself here:

What You’ll Need:
-Orly Bonder basecoat (optional)
-Taupe nail polish
-Glitter nail polish
-Clear top coat nail polish

How To Do It Yourself:

Step 1: Get all your supplies lined up and ready to go. It might help to un-loosen your nail polish lids. Start off by applying the Orly Bonder as your basecoat to all your nails (this will prevent nail color from chipping or wearing off). Let dry for about 3 minutes then paint all of your nails with the taupe nail polish. Let dry for about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Paint all of your nails with the glitter nail polish and let dry for about 5 minutes.

Step 3: Apply a layer of clear top coat to seal in your new manicure and you’re all done!

About the Winner: Sidney Budlie, a sophomore at San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, California, worked with O’Neill design mentor, Anya Violet, on a dress inspired by the 1980s. “I live for fashion—no fashion is like having no oxygen. Fashion helps me express myself and be courageous and outgoing. I would like to thank my mentor Anya—you rock! Cedar, Kari, and Lindsay for teaching me all the fashion ins and outs. And of course, my beautiful family and friends. Thank you so much Aunt Michelle; I couldn’t have done anything without you and Kaitlin. You were by my side the whole time!”
