Manicure Monday

Manicure Monday

After a wild weekend with our O’Neill Generation Next event in San Francisco we needed a delicious latte this morning and an easy manicure that required little to no effort… and tada the Latte Charm manicure was born! Learn how to do it yourself here:

What You’ll Need:
-Orly Bonder basecoat (optional)
-Taupe nail polish
-Glitter nail polish
-Clear top coat nail polish

How To Do It Yourself:

Step 1: Get all your supplies lined up and ready to go. It might help to un-loosen your nail polish lids. Start off by applying the Orly Bonder as your basecoat to all your nails (this will prevent nail color from chipping or wearing off). Let dry for about 3 minutes then paint all of your nails with the taupe nail polish. Let dry for about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Paint all of your nails with the glitter nail polish and let dry for about 5 minutes.

Step 3: Apply a layer of clear top coat to seal in your new manicure and you’re all done!

About the Winner: Sidney Budlie, a sophomore at San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, California, worked with O’Neill design mentor, Anya Violet, on a dress inspired by the 1980s. “I live for fashion—no fashion is like having no oxygen. Fashion helps me express myself and be courageous and outgoing. I would like to thank my mentor Anya—you rock! Cedar, Kari, and Lindsay for teaching me all the fashion ins and outs. And of course, my beautiful family and friends. Thank you so much Aunt Michelle; I couldn’t have done anything without you and Kaitlin. You were by my side the whole time!”

The Grand Prize winner was determined by text message votes from the audience and webcast viewers on the evening of the event, and judges from O’Neill and TEEN VOGUE. For the first time in GenNext history we had a tie between two of the finalists Nahal and Grace! It was also the first year ever that a girl from Rosary High School did not win.

“O’Neill’s Generation Next is a really unique opportunity for young girls with an interest in fashion design to learn what a career in this industry is all about,” said Kari Johnson, vice president of design and marketing for O’Neill Girls. “They go from creating a concept to bringing it to the runway in 6 months, so they truly get a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience that we hope benefits them as they look to their future.”

“This program is such a great outlet for these talented finalists to get their first taste of the apparel and design worlds,” added Toby Bost, CEO of O’Neill Clothing. “It’s really fun to see their sketches, ideas and dedication turn into a final look on the runway. I know the audience will be blown away with what’s in store.”
